The Rocky Flats site is located about 15 miles northwest of downtown Denver, Colorado (see maps below). It is situated off Highway 93 between the cities of Boulder and Golden, close to the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.

The Cold War Museum's specific location, size and content will be determined through an intensive concept development process. The board of directors wants to locate the museum on - or as close as possible - to the existing Rocky Flats plant site.
